Timothy Christian junior Hope Clark finished 10th in the state in the 3,200 run at the recent Class 1A girls track and field state finals at Eastern Illinois University. Clark clocked in at 12:07.32.

Elise Terpstra finished seventh in her heat of the triple jump with a mark of 32-9 3/4. She also was seventh in her preliminary heat of the 800 with a time of 2:27.01.

Maggie Troxel was eighth in her preliminary heat of the 100 hurdles with a time of 19.67. Campbell Marshall also competed in the high jump.

Timothy’s 400 relay was fourth in its preliminary heat with a time of 51.26. That group included Priscilla Nartey, Kennedi Clark, Alli Myers and Sureya Alex. Clark is a freshman, while Myers and Alex are sophomores.

The Trojans took fourth in their preliminary heat of the 800 relay with a time of 1:48.28 with Nartey, Clark, Myers and Alex again running.

York girls track

York senior Sarah May took 11th in the state in the 1,600 at the Class 3A girls track and field state finals in Charleston. Ma finished with a time of 5:07.75.

May was third in her preliminary heat of the 1,600 with a time of 5:00.41 and earned a finals berth.

York boys track

The York boys track team was fourth at its own Class 3A York sectional.

The Dukes finished with 68 points and had numerous individuals qualify for this weekend’s state finals meet in Charleston.

York won the 3,200 relay sectional title and will run in that event at state.

Brendan Hill finished fourth in the pole vault at 14-3 and earned a state berth. Richard Buehling was second in the triple jump at 44-6 1/2  and is headed to state.

Michael Moriarty was second in the 800 with a time of 1:56.58 and earned a state berth, while Eric Sylvester won the 400 sectional title with a time of 50.36.

Timothy Christian boys track

The Timothy Christian boys track team took ninth at the Class 1A Seneca sectional with 22 points.

Senior Denardo Jones is headed to the state meet this weekend after winning the triple jump sectional title. He turned in a 45-3 1/2 performance.

Joining Jones at state will be teammate Jake Postma, who took second in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.96. Postma is a freshman.
