Police Reports

Area police departments recently reported the following arrests and citations. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that suspects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Persons charged with domestic battery are not named in order to protect the privacy of victims. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.

 

Addison

 

April 30

Police said Ryan J. Litt, 18, of Bloomingdale, had an original warrant out of the Addison Police Department for look-alike controlled substance at 11:46 a.m.

 

April 27

Police said Alexander J. Webb, 28, of Addison, had a failure to appear warrant out of the DuPage County Sheriff’s Department for driving while license suspended in the 700 block of Swift Road at around 5:41 a.m.

 

April 25

Wayne A. Schultz, 53, of Wood Dale, was charged with speeding in excess of 35 mph over the speed limit and issued a citation for failure to signal near North and Villa at around 1:31 p.m.

A 37-year-old Addison man was charged with domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of domestic battery in the 400 block of Stone Street at around 11:29 p.m. Police said the suspect grabbed victim by her throat with both hands. When the suspect released victim, she attempted to contact 911. The suspect then allegedly took the phone from victim’s hands and threw it to the ground, causing damage to the phone and rending it inoperable.

 

Villa Park

 

April 27

Aldo E. Cavazos, 26, of Villa Park, was charged with two counts of DUI, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, use of an electronic communication device and no insurance near Ardmore and Oak at around 11:58 p.m.

Kimberly Giles, 53, of Addison, and Eligio Valencia, 61, of Maywood, were charged with retail theft at a local store at around 3:34 p.m.

Aurora L. Rodriguez, 23, of Joliet, was charged with retail theft at a local store at around 1:52 a.m.

Criminal damage was reported near Plymouth and Ardmore at around 11:35 p.m. Police said an unknown suspect threw an unknown blunt object at the window, causing it to break.

 

April 26

Heather R. Blankenship, 24, of Villa Park, was charged with theft on Jan. 28. The original complaint and arrest warrant were issued April 26.

Robert A. Kaye, 20, of Oak Brook, was issued a local adjunction for possession of cannabis near North and Westmore at around 10:01 p.m.

Higinio A. Velasquez-Garcia, 22, and Jose Velasquez-Garcia, 26, both of Bensenville, were charged with illegal transportation of alcohol near North and Ardmore at around 12:23 a.m., while Ramiro L. Velasquez-Garcia was charged with two counts of DUI and disobeying a stop sign.

Theft and battery were reported in the 800 block of W. North at around 5:23 p.m. Police said an unknown suspect stole a 5-gallon bucket of paint from the property, and then battered the employee when the employee went to verify the bucket belonging to the store and retrieve it.

 

April 25

Theft was reported at a local store at around 3:19 p.m. Police said an unknown suspect stole a wallet from a purse that was in a shopping cart while the customer was shopping.

 

April 23

Battery was reported at the train station at around 11 p.m. A complainant advised that he was battered by four unknown suspects while he was waiting for a ride at the train station.

 

April 22-April 23

Burglary was reported in the 700 block of N. Michigan. Police said an unknown suspect forced entry into two trailers and stole landscaping equipment sometime between 6:30 p.m. April 22, and 9 a.m. April 23.

 

April 22

Ryan T. Searce, 20, of Villa Park, was issued a local adjunction for possession of cannabis near Villa and Blackstone at around 10:16 p.m.

Retail theft was reported at a local store at around 9:13 p.m. Police said unknown female suspects removed several items displayed for sale and left the store with the items without paying.

 

March 13

Nafatia L. Elliott, 37, of Glendale Heights, was charged with retail theft at a local store at around 8:09 p.m.
