MARY S. KLEIN
Mary S. Klein, nee Suderow, age 100, of Lombard, passed away May 7, 2019.
Mary was born May 13, 1918, in Canal Fulton, Ohio. She graduated from Kent State University with a degree in business education and later earned a master’s degree in education from the University of Pittsburgh. She taught in Canton, Ohio, and East Leyden High School in Franklin Park over a period of 30 years.
Mary moved to Lombard in 1956 and lived in the same house for 63 years.
Mary belonged to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for 59 years, where she was a lector reader, a member of the altar guild, as well as a member of Faith Women’s Circle.
A lifelong voracious reader, Mary also belonged to the book discussion group at Helen Plum Library for many years.
At age 70, Mary took bridge lessons at the Lombard Senior Center and continued to play for over 25 years. An enthusiastic world traveler, Mary had been to over 62 countries and islands around the world with her daughter.
Mary always enjoyed music, history, politics and sports. She played tennis, cross country skied and enjoyed bike riding on the Prairie Path for many years.
Mary was married for almost 41 years to Sheldon D. Klein, an attorney. She is survived by her son, Edwin, a retired math professor; her daughter, Glenda, a retired school social worker; and her son-in-law, Sunil, a retired senior systems analyst.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 22, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 350 E. Madison St., Lombard. Interment will be at Mt. Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst, Illinois.

MARGUERITE MAJERCHIN
A memorial Mass for Marguerite “Peg” Majerchin, 88, formerly of Lombard, will be held Saturday, June 1, 2019, 10:15 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Church, 330 N. Westmore Ave., Villa Park.

ARLENE C. MASON
Arlene Catherine Mason, nee Grainger, age 79, of Lombard, passed away May 8, 2019.
A visitation was held Sunday, May 12, from 2-7 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Funeral services were held Monday, May 13, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home to Mass at Sacred Heart Church. Interment followed at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.

JOANN MURPHY
JoAnn (Jo) Webb Murphy of Lombard passed away January 21, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Murphy. They were married 61 years.
She was born May 26, 1928. She was a Lombardian her whole life even though she spent her last few years in her condo in Door County. She spent two years at Drake University getting her teaching degree and later went to Northwestern University to get her four-year degree.
She taught kindergarten in Lombard, including Lincoln, Pleasant Lane and Butterfield schools. She enjoyed traveling the country with Bill and to Europe with her sister Kay. She also enjoyed biking, swimming and spending time outdoors.
She is survived by her sister Kay; children Pat (Dean) VanClay, Mary (John Rankin) Murphy, John (Karen) Murphy and JoAnn Murphy; grandchildren John (Rebecca), Alan (Stephanie) and James Murphy; and three great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service was held.
Donations may be made to the Morton Arboretum in Lisle.
