Public-spirited Velta Kopacek was honored as Lombard Service League’s 2019 Woman of the Year during the league’s April 11 meeting in the Lombard Village Hall Community Room. League members, guests, family members and friends were on hand for the announcement of the league’s 55th Woman of the Year. Kopacek (center) is pictured following the presentation with (left to right) Woman of the Year chairman Barb Madigan, league committee members Audrey Papenbrok and Kathy Noble and league president Jane Plonka. Kopacek will be a guest of honor in the annual Lilac Parade on Sunday, May 19.
