DOROTHY S. AULER
Dorothy S. Auler, nee Stephen, age 94, of Carol Stream, formerly of Villa Park, died December 30 at Central DuPage Hospital.
All services and interment private.
Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Donald H; loving mother of Susan E. (Richard) DiRenzo, Peter (Candy) and the late Stephen; cherished grandmother of Tony (Chrissy) DiRenzo and Michelle (Aaron) Sobieck; great-grandmother of Brianna and Brenten; dearest sister of Ruth (the late Darrell) Evenson, Charles (Lynda) Stephen, William (the late Marsha) Stephen and the late Donald (Yvonne) Stephen; aunt and great-aunt of many.
Dorothy had been a resident of Villa Park for 53 years and had lived at Windsor Park in Carol Stream for 9 years. She was a member of the Earth Science Club at Northern Illinois University. Dorothy was a quilter.

KATHLEEN E. CIANCIO
Kathleen E. Ciancio of Villa Park, passed away on Jan. 9, 2019.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 15, at St. Pius X Church in Lombard, Ill. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery, Oakbrook Terrace.

JOANNE S. LOVIG
Joanne S. Lovig, age 74, of Lombard, died Jan. 8 at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 12, at Calvary Episcopal Church, 105 W. Maple St., Lombard. Interment was private.

BARBARA GAIL MOORE
Funeral services for Barbara Gail Moore (nee Cronin), age 72, of Leesburg, Fla., formerly of Mokena, Hazel Crest and Park Forest, were held Monday, Jan. 14, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 114 S. Elizabeth St., Lombard. Interment was at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Wheaton.

MARILYN B. SIMMS
Marilyn B. Simms, age 87, passed away December 22, 2018, at home surrounded by family.
She was born December 29, 1930, in Chicago, to Dorothy Bowen (Hassellof) and Charles Bowen. She graduated from high school in Chicago and attended Northern Illinois University where she met her husband Robert. They married in 1951.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Gwendolyn Bowen Rossell, brother Charles Bowen, and husband Robert Simms. She is survived by her sons, Steven (Kelly) Simms of Lombard, David (Judy) Simms of New Buffalo, Michigan, and Paul (Tammy) Simms of Downers Grove. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Julie Simms, Dennis, Patrick, Krista Simms Posey, John, Daniel, Michael, Jack; and nieces Beth Bowen O’Brien, Amy Bowen Stephens, Stephanie Rossell, Lisa Rossell Ware; six great grandchildren and 5 great nieces and nephews.
Marilyn has been a resident of Lombard for over 50 years. She was a passionate reader and an active volunteer at the Lombard Historical Society for many years, as she had become a lifelong antique “expert” in her 20s. She was a gifted kindergarten and preschool teacher, and worked in District 45 (Lombard and Villa Park) and The Growing Place Preschool. Marilyn had a lifelong passion for Lake Michigan, having grown up near its Chicago beaches. She led not only her family but many friends to southwest Michigan, where everyone has enjoyed, and continues to enjoy countless hours on the beaches there.
A memorial service is planned on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Community Presbyterian Church, 1111 E. Madison St., Lombard, IL, 60148. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with the service following at 11 a.m.
Contributions in memory of Marilyn may be given to Community Presbyterian Church at the above address. Interment will be private.

ERWIN H. STARK
Erwin H. Stark, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 6, 2019, at Alexian Brothers Medical Center. A funeral Mass was held Saturday, January 12, at Sacred Heart Church in Lombard.
Erwin is survived by his wife of 55 years, Victoria Stark; his children, Elisabeth Dubsky (Brian), Maria Wathen (Brad), Herman Stark (Jagoda), and Teresa Johnson (Andrew); and his grandchildren, Rachel Woehr (Kevin), Matthew Wathen, Sebastian Stark, Kiara Johnson, and Liliana Johnson.
Erwin was a member of Sacred Heart Church for 54 years and was active in the Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus, and St. Vincent De Paul Society. He was one of the original founders of the annual German Fest and served in various capacities at the Fest over the years.
Erwin was an avid swimmer, tennis player, and gardener. He worked for 40 years for the C.R. Kesner Company in Geneva, and retired last year at age 85. Erwin deeply loved his family and would do anything and everything for them.
