Krave Restaurant closes due to storm damage; To reopen in Bridgeview

Due to unforeseen storm damage, Krave Restaurant, located at the northwest corner of St. Charles Rd. and Rte. 83, has announced through a sign on the door and on its Facebook page that it is closed “for the time being.”

Whether it is a restaurant or a home, recovering from hurricane or storm damage can be a difficult task. That is why it is critical to be aware of all the tips, such as those mentioned on Bawel, that may assist you in taking action to have the place repaired. For example, after a storm, you may need to inspect your roof, water clogs, fences, and so on. That way, you can be mentally prepared to bear the repair expenses if you can keep track of all of these things. However, some businesses, such as Krave Restaurant, are not able to afford such an outlay due to ongoing losses and eventually have to shut down.

“We are very grateful to everyone who supported us in the past years and to shine some light on such an unplanned and unfortunate situation, we do have some good news,” according to the Facebook page. “Our new location will be in Bridgeview right in front of Toyota Park.”

The owners are planning a spring opening.

Something like this happening to any restaurant is a devastating loss not only for the owners and managers but for the community as well. It is lucky that they will be opening back up during the spring, and we can only hope that they will have a grand opening to welcome everyone back to their new location. This time around, they might consider taking assistance from food & restaurant consulting firms in the area that can advise them on building storm-resistant structures for their restaurant and also help them with a plan for restaurant management that can streamline their workflow.

As they start to gather what they have together, they will need to see if any of their current kitchen equipment and supplies can be fixed to fit in with the new restaurant, if not, then there other options for them to go for so they can get it in time for their re-opening. They may want to visit websites like nellaonline.com to see what work tables, refrigeration systems, commercial sinks, etc. they have and create a list to buy what they need.

Because of the storm, there may be some outstanding bills that will need to be paid for the old restaurant, so buying new equipment might be difficult, however, there are financing options that they can look at but they have not mentioned yet if they will need any assistance in getting what they need. Here is hoping that the community and recurring customers can lend a helping hand for their local eatery.
