A time to give and remember

The Village of Lombard is hosting its fall “We Remember – Never Forget 9/11” blood drives Wednesday, Sept. 12. Representatives of the village, including fire, police and public works personnel, are pictured with Village of Lombard blood drive coordinator Carol Bauer (pictured just left of banner) at the village hall inviting those who can to donate the gift of life. The blood drives are being held at two locations: Yorktown Shopping Center in a mobile coach parked at the mall (outside entrance #5 between Von Maur and The Eatery) from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Lombard Village Hall, 255 E. Wilson Ave., from 1:30-7 p.m. All donors will receive a coupon for a free pint of Culver’s Frozen Custard, be entered in a raffle for a Yorktown Center gift card, and receive a long sleeved Bears T-shirt and a voucher for free admission to Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm Pumpkin Fest. To make an appointment, or for information regarding donation eligibility, contact Bauer at 630-620-5712 or Heartland Blood Centers at www.heartlandbc.org. For details, see the advertisement in this issue of the Lombardian.
