Lombard

The Lombard Police Department recently reported the following arrests and citations. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.

Assault, battery

July 29
Brandon Tolliver, 24, of Chicago, was charged with battery at Lexington Health Center in the 2100 block of S. Finley at 2:57 p.m.

July 27
A complainant in the 300 block of N. Columbine advised at 12:13 p.m. that a subject struck him in the face. The complainant did not want to sign complaints.

July 26
A complainant at Walgreens, 309 W. St. Charles, advised at 1:20 p.m. that two subjects approached him and struck him in the face. The subjects fled the area.

Criminal damage to property, damage to property, criminal trespass to property

Aug. 1
An employee near Greenfield and Elizabeth advised at 8:10 a.m. that an information sign was damaged.

July 30
A complainant in the 1700 block of S. Stewart advised at 12:07 p.m. that her mailbox was damaged.

A complainant in the 1700 block of S. Stewart advised at 12:07 p.m. that the mailbox and post were damaged.

A complainant in the 2100 block of S. Finley advised at 12:07 p.m. that the side view mirror of her vehicle was damaged.

July 28
A complainant in the 300 block of W. St. Charles advised at 8:39 p.m. that a subject entered the residence after being told not to. An officer was unable to make contact with the subject.

July 25
A complainant in the 2000 block of S. Finley advised at 6:58 p.m. that the windshield on her vehicle was damaged while parked in the lot. She further advised that a landscaping company was working near the lot.

Domestic battery, domestic incident, disturbance

July 30
A 25-year-old Lombard woman was charged with a domestic in the 2000 block of S. Highland at 5:40 a.m.

July 29
A complainant in the 300 block of W. Roosevelt advised at 12:53 p.m. that they were engaged in a traffic altercation with a subject.

A complainant in the 500 block of N. Vista advised at 1:15 a.m. that a male subject was yelling. A witness advised that a friend had an argument with another subject at the party and left. Other party goers wanted the witness to leave also. A second witness agreed to take the witness home.

July 28
A complainant at Jewel, 1177 S. Main, advised at 9:26 p.m. that five subjects described as black males were fighting in front of the store and one subject displayed a gun. The area was checked for the subjects with no results.

July 27
An employee at University of Health Sciences, 200 E. Roosevelt, advised at 1:24 p.m. that a subject was yelling in the cafeteria. The subject was escorted to a vehicle and left without incident.

July 26
A complainant at Asset Recovery Services, 1919 S. Highland, advised that a subject threatened her during a verbal argument. The subject left prior to an officer’s arrival.

July 25
A complainant at Paradise Bay, 443 E. St. Charles, advised at 5:21 p.m. that a male subject and female subject began yelling and accused her of taking photos of their children. The subjects followed the complainant to her vehicle and pounded on her windshield. The area was checked for the subjects with no results.

An employee at Marquette Tap, 19 W. St. Charles, advised at 5:45 p.m. that a male subject was yelling profanities at employees. The subject was issued a trespass warning.

A complainant at Sakura Sushi, St. Charles and Westmore, advised at 6:24 p.m. that a male and female were fighting in the parking lot. One subject argued with a second subject, and the second subject refused assistance and left the area.

Abgelito Vicedo, 31, of Lombard, was charged with DUI and speeding near Roosevelt and Stewart at 12:58 a.m.

July 29
Leanne Guy, 19, of Montgomery, and Thomas Borst, 19, of Lombard, were issued local ordinance violations for consumption of alcohol by a minor in the 100 block of E. Grove at 9 p.m.

July 28
Diane Carrillo, 60, of Bellwood, was charged with DUI in the 900 block of E. Roosevelt at 11:55 p.m.

July 26
Alejandro Medina, 31, of North Riverside, was charged with DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol and operating a vehicle while using an electronic device near Butterfield and Camden at 9:03 p.m.

July 25
Michael King, 18, of Lombard, was charged with zero tolerance DUI and failure to give aid or information subsequent to an accident in the 1100 block of S. Fairview at 10:43 p.m.

Paris Neal, 41, of Lombard, was charged with DUI, speeding, improper lane usage and failure to signal near Roosevelt and Westmore at 1:18 a.m.

Mariana Magana Santoyo, 22, of Berwyn, was charged with DUI, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding near Roosevelt and Finley at 1:16 a.m.

Harassment, threats

Aug. 1
A complainant in the 300 block of W. Morris received a private message which included an obscene image from a subject on Snapchat at 4:30 p.m.

A complainant in the 1400 block of S. Lombard received an harassing phone call from a subject soliciting phone services at 4:50 p.m.

A complainant in the 200 block of Cimarron received an email from a subject at 5:57 p.m. who claimed to have the complainant’s email password and personal information. The subject demanded that the complainant send $1,200 in bitcoins for the information.

July 30
A complainant in the 1000 block of S. Westmore advised at 2:23 p.m. that they received threatening calls from a subject.

A complainant in the 100 block of W. St. Charles advised at 3:14 p.m. that a subject continues to contact her after being told to stop. The complainant was advised to block the subject’s number.

July 29
Two complainants in the 400 block of W. Windsor Ave. advised at 10:25 a.m. that they received harassing phone calls from a subject.

A complainant in the 400 block of W. Windsor advised at 9:40 p.m. that a subject sent her threatening text messages.

July 27
A complainant in the 400 block of W. Harrison advised at 6:51 p.m. that a subject is verbally abusive and has threatened her.

July 25
A complainant in the 1-100 block of W. St. Charles advised at 6:51 p.m. that a subject yelled at and threatened him. The subject was told not to yell at patrons and left the area.

Possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance

Aug. 1
Matthew Fay, 20, of Lombard, was issued a local ordinance for possession of cannabis near Elizabeth and Windsor at 12:36 a.m.

July 25
Walter Hawkins, 32, of Cicero, was charged with possession of cannabis and disobeying a traffic control device near Butterfield and Meyers at 1:19 a.m.

Suspicious circumstances

July 31
A parent near Roosevelt and Fairfield advised at 5 p.m. that two juveniles were throwing rocks at each other. An officer spoke to the two juveniles.

A complainant advised that two vehicles were drag racing near Edgewood and Maple at 11:07 p.m.

July 29
A complainant in the 2000 block of E. St. Regis Drive advised at 8:32 a.m. that they received a video from a subject depicting a sexual assault.

July 27
A complainant near Main and Ash advised at 7:55 a.m. that a subject described as a black male carrying a backpack was breaking planters. The area was checked for the subject with no results.

An employee at State Farm, 700 S. Main, advised at 12:41 p.m. that a male continues to come into the office requesting a tomato and a garbage bag. The subject was told not to return.

An employee in the 200 block of E. Central requested that an officer make contact with a subject who was asked to leave the property at 9:15 p.m.

July 26
A complainant in the 300 block of S. Lewis advised at 11:12 p.m. that a subject threw large rocks onto his deck. The area was checked with no results.

July 25
A complainant in the 1000 block of S. Westmore advised at 5:45 p.m. that a male subject on a cement patio was naked, and then entered an apartment.

A complainant in the 400 block of W. Graham advised at 11:17 p.m. that they observed two male subjects walking very slowly to a dead end. The area was checked with no results.

Theft, burglary, attempted theft or burglary, identity theft, fraud, forgery, deceptive practice, obstruction, robbery

Aug. 1
Fraud was reported at Jimmy John’s, 2770 S. Highland, at 2:31 p.m. An employee advised that a subject used a counterfeit $100 bill to pay for a purchase.

Fraud was reported at Partex Marking Systems, 1155 N. Main, at 3:10 p.m. An employee advised that a subject gained access to her email account and sent a fraudulent wire transfer.

Fraud was reported in the 500 block of N. Stewart at 6:56 p.m. A complainant advised that a subject had fraudulently obtained funds from two victims.

Theft was reported in the 1-100 block of N. Park at 8:34 p.m. A complainant advised that her plants were taken off her patio twice.

July 31
Matthew Czerwin, 18, of Lombard; Richard Czerwin, 18, of Lombard; and Chico Valencia, 21, of Broadview, were charged with retail theft at H&M, 370 Yorktown, at 3:03 p.m. Police said Valencia was transferred to DuPage County Jail on two outstanding warrants.

Theft was reported at Jared, 2370 Fountain Square, at 1:31 p.m. An employee advised that a subject had taken merchandise and left the store without paying.

Theft was reported at Mobil, 2150 S. Highland, at 8:48 a.m. A complainant advised that his wallet was taken from a ledge.

July 30
Regina Ferguson, 54, of Aurora, was charged with retail theft at Von Maur, 175 Yorktown, at 2:42 p.m.

Theft was reported in the 300 block of E. 17th Place at 6:38 a.m. A complainant advised that a bird bath was taken from his back yard. An officer found the bird bath smashed in the street.

Theft was reported at the First Church of Lombard, 220 S. Main, at 8:34 a.m. An employee advised that three concrete vases and a vertical ash tray were removed from the rear of the church and a bench was removed.

A complainant in the 200 block of W. 19th advised at 10:48 a.m. that she received a call from a subject who stated that she had won a sweepstakes, but would have to pay a fee to collect the prize. The complainant was advised that the call was fraudulent.

July 29
Burglary to a vehicle was reported in the 900 block of S. Fairfield at 5:20 a.m. A complainant advised that $16 in cash was taken from two vehicles parked in the driveway.

An officer in the 900 block of S. Fairfield observed a subject enter a vehicle at 5:20 a.m. The owner of the vehicle advised that nothing was missing.

July 28
Lakisha Jones, 43, of Chicago, was charged with retail theft, burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia at Target, 60 Yorktown, at 8:31 p.m.

Fraud was reported at Beacon Hill, 2400 S. Finley, at 4:46 p.m. A complainant advised that she received a call from a subject claiming to work for Microsoft, who advised that she had several viruses on her computer. The subject directed the complainant to purchase gift cards to pay for removal. The complainant realized the call was fraudulent and hung up.

Theft was reported in the 800 block of W. Foxworth at 9:22 a.m. A complainant advised that cash was taken from the residence.

Theft was reported in the 100 block of W. St. Charles at 2:32 p.m. A complainant advised that he lent a subject his watch and she gave the watch to another subject.

July 27
Retail theft was reported at Champs Sports, 112 Yorktown, at 12:37 p.m. An employee advised that a female subject returned stolen items for a refund.

Fraud was reported in the 200 block of Collen Drive at 3:47 p.m. A complainant advised that they received a call from a subject claiming to be with the Social Security Administration requesting personal information.

July 26
Deceptive practice was reported at West Suburban Bank, 717 S. Westmore, at 4:22 p.m. A complainant advised that a subject used her personal and bank account information to cash a check against her account. Approximately $1,987 was taken.

Fraud was reported in the 1-100 block of S. Columbine at 2:45 p.m. A complainant advised that a subject directed her to purchase $700 in iTunes gift cards in order to receive reimbursement for medical bills.

Theft was reported in the 1300 block of S. Finley at 5:15 p.m. A complainant advised that a bottle of prescription medication was taken from the residence.

Burglary to a vehicle was reported in the 300 block of W. Graham at 9:30 p.m. A complainant advised that several items were taken from his vehicle including a brief case, work papers, a blue tooth device, cologne, prescription medication and a key fob.

July 25
Melvin Daniels, 29, of Addison, was charged with retail theft at Target, 60 Yorktown, at 12:28 p.m.

Theft of a vehicle was reported in the 500 block of N. Lalonde. A complainant advised that his 2014 silver Chevy Cruze was taken.

Burglary to a vehicle was reported in the 300 block of W. Morris at 12:29 p.m. A complainant advised that a battery charger and camcorder were taken from his vehicle.

Burglary to a vehicle was reported in the 300 block of W. Morris at 3:09 p.m. A complainant advised that several items were taken from his vehicle including cigars, a lighter, a staple gun and a pocket knife.

Burglary to a vehicle was reported in the 200 block of W. Graham at 11:57 p.m. A complainant advised that a Gerber folding knife and cards were taken from his vehicle.

Theft was reported at Sure Stay, 222 E. 22nd, at 4:24 p.m. A complainant advised that his cell phone was taken from his guest room.

Burglary was reported in the 100 block of N. Charlotte at 5:46 p.m. A complainant advised that a witness heard a noise in the back yard. The complainant checked the garage and found items displaced and a towel missing.

Warrant arrest

July 25
Police said Maria Miranda, 37, of Glendale Heights, was taken into custody on a DuPage County Sheriff’s warrant. Miranda was transported to the Lombard Police Department, booked and released on cash bond.

Police said that Candace Stanek, 38, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., was arrested on a warrant and also charged with driving while license suspended near Fairfield and Butterfield at 4:21 p.m.

Villa Park

The Villa Park Police Department recently reported the following arrests and citations. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that suspects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.

July 27-July 28
Criminal trespassing was reported at Jefferson Pool. Police said that an unknown suspect entered the property and threw deck chairs, a lifeguard chair, a reel for lane dividers and a girl’s bike into the deep end of the pool sometime between 8:30 p.m. July 27 and 6 a.m. July 28.

Criminal damage was reported in the 200 block of W. Vermont. Police said that an unknown suspect threw a rock and damaged the front window of a residence sometime between 2 p.m. July 27 and 2 p.m. July 28.

July 27
Keith W. Dockins, 33, of Deerfield, was issued citations for possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, disobeying a traffic control device and no insurance near North and Ardmore at 6:58 p.m.

Edward K. Wofford, 22, of Glendale Heights, was issued a citation for possession of cannabis near North and Kramer at 9:55 p.m.

A 21-year-old Justice man was charged with two counts of domestic battery in the 300 block of N. Yale on Sept. 21, 2017. The original complaint and arrest warrant were issued on July 27.

July 26-July 27
Police said that an unknown suspect stole license plates from a vehicle parked in a lot in the 700 block of W. Roy between 10 p.m. July 26 and 6 a.m. July 27.

July 26
Alexandra M. Mulcahy, 26, of Villa Park, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle, violation of an order of protection and possession of drug paraphernalia in the 300 block of N. Cornell at 2:33 p.m.

A 44-year-old Villa Park man was charged with two counts of domestic battery in the 900 block of W. North at 9:46 a.m.

July 25-July 26
Criminal damage was reported in the 700 block of W. Roy. Police said that unknown suspects damaged the passenger side windows, front windshield and rear tail gate window with an unknown blunt object sometime between 10 p.m. July 25 and 2:26 a.m. July 26.

July 22-July 23
Criminal damage was reported in the 600 block of N. Third. Police said that an unknown suspect smashed a window and the rear sliding glass door of a house sometime between 7 p.m. July 22 and 7 a.m. July 23. No entry was gained to the house.

July 22
Theft was reported at Chuck E. Cheese at 8:31 p.m. Police said that an unknown suspect stole an iPhone 7+ that was inadvertently left unattended at one of the games.

July 21-July 22
Burglary was reported at the train depot sometime between 10 p.m. July 21 and 8 a.m. July 22. Police said that an unknown suspect removed several tools from a vehicle parked unsecured in the parking lot.
