Lombard police reports

The Lombard Police Department recently reported the following arrests and citations. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.

Assault, battery

July 23

A complainant in the 1100 block of S. Fairfield advised at 8:33 p.m. that two subjects were fighting. One of the subjects retrieved his phone and left the scene.

Criminal damage to property, damage to property, criminal trespass to property

July 19

A complainant in the 600 block of E. Central advised at 8:20 p.m. that his vehicle was scratched with a key.

Domestic battery, domestic incident, disturbance

July 24

A complainant in the 800 block of Foxworth advised at 10:39 a.m. that a subject struck her during a verbal argument. No complaints were signed.

July 23

A 39-year-old Lombard man was charged with domestic battery in the 300 block of S. Lewis at 1:47 p.m.

July 22

A complainant at Jewel, 1177 S. Main, advised at 3:39 p.m. of a dispute with an employee regarding a return. The employee advised that the subject was yelling and using profanity. The complainant was issued a trespass warning and told to leave the property.

July 19

A complainant in the 200 block of S. 3rd advised at 3:07 p.m. that a female subject was yelling. The area was checked with no results.

July 24

Ariel Alvarado, 24, of Addison, was charged with DUI, driving while license suspended and disobeying a stop sign near South Broadway and Grace at 12:42 a.m. Brian Bands, 48, of Sharpsburg, Georgia, was charged with DUI near Main and Pleasant at 10:28 p.m. Sarah Kolinek, 34, of Bolingbrook, was charged with DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, speeding and no insurance near Route 53 and Madison at 11:39 p.m.

July 23

Joshua Rojas, 28, of Chicago, was charged with DUI near Roosevelt and Lincoln at 12:44 a.m.

July 21

Carol Kurash, 56, of Lombard, was charged with DUI, improper turn and failure to signal near St. Charles and Elizabeth at 8:26 a.m. Lias Ramos-Rangel, 29, of Glendale Heights, was charged with DUI, improper lane usage and failure to signal near North and Route 53 at 12:06 a.m. Mohammed Rashid, 20, of Lombard, was charged with zero tolerance DUI, consumption of alcohol by a minor and speeding near Route 53 and St. Charles at 3:44 a.m. Ahsan Saleem, 37, of Lombard, was charged with DUI subsequent to an accident in the 1300 block of S. Westmore at 11:16 p.m.

July 20

Sarah Tozzi, 33, of Aurora, was charged with DUI near Roosevelt and Main at 8 a.m.

July 19

William Stegman, 68, of Lombard, was charged with DUI, driving while license suspended, failure to yield and no insurance subsequent to an accident near Roosevelt and Stewart at 2:44 p.m.

July 18

Isshac Daher, 22, of Westchester, was charged with DUI, possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on the wrong side of the road, speeding, disobeying a traffic control device and no insurance near Roosevelt and Highland at 1:15 a.m. Abdullah Elghorr, 22, of Lombard, was charged with DUI, speeding and improper lane usage near Roosevelt and Highland at 1:01 a.m.

Excessive speeding

July 18

Gilberto Ramirez, 22, of Cicero, was charged with speeding 35 mph over the limit near Westmore and Maple at 8:06 p.m.

Harassment, threats

July 22

A complainant in the 600 block of N. Lalonde advised at 1:25 a.m. that several intoxicated subjects threatened another subject at a party. The first subject advised that the second subject was angry with him. The second subject advised she would not have any more contact with the first subject for the night.

July 21

A complainant in the 400 block of E. Central advised at 5:49 p.m. that a subject threatened him.

July 20

A complainant in the 400 block of N. Joyce advised at 9:38 p.m. that he exited the residence after hearing a knock at the door. The complainant advised that a male juvenile threatened him as he stood in his driveway.

Possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance

July 22

Elizabeth Krystof-Graves, 25, of Bensenville, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license suspended and obstructed view near Main and Parkside at 2:33 a.m. Police said Bradley Feldman, 27, of Bensenville, was taken into custody on a Coles County Sheriff Warrant. He was transported to the Lombard Police Department, booked and released on cash bond.

July 21

Michael King, 18, and Zachary Thompson, 18, both of Lombard, were issued local ordinance violations for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia near Westmore and Roosevelt at 12:03 a.m.

Dametria Noyes, 33, of Lombard, was issued a local ordinance violation for possession of cannabis near St. Charles and Highland at 1:02 a.m.

July 20

Cedric Rhone, 27, of Chicago, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia near Roosevelt and Edgewood at 1:01 a.m.

Suspicious circumstances

July 24

A complainant in the 1-100 block of N. Craig advised at 9:31 a.m. that a subject was outside yelling and holding a golf club. The subject advised that someone repeatedly drove past the residence and yelled at the subject, who was told to call 911 instead.

A complainant near Main and St. Charles advised at 10:36 a.m. that a male subject approached him and asked him if he wanted to purchase meds. The area was checked with no results.

July 23

A complainant near Stewart and Edward advised at 1:24 a.m. that a subject was looking into vehicles. The area was checked with no results.

A complainant near St. Charles and Grace advised at 7:08 a.m. that a subject disobeyed a red light and almost struck pedestrians. The subject advised that she went around an accident and the light was green.

A juvenile near Westmore and Maple (Westmore Woods) advised at 8:45 p.m. that a subject in a van was wearing a sheet over their face and observed a female subject hiding in the bushes. A witness advised that the female subject entered the van and both left the area.

July 22

A complainant near Route 53 and St. Charles Road advised at 8:54 p.m. that they heard a gunshot and a subject scream. The area was checked with no results.

July 19

A complainant in the 400 block of S. Edson advised at 12:50 p.m. that they found scratches around the door lock and the lock damaged.

A complainant in the 400 block of S. Lombard advised at 8:16 p.m. that they found an ad on Craigslist listing his residence for sale.

July 18

A complainant in the 1-100 block of S. Park advised at 7:31 p.m. that a subject described as a white male was riding in and out of traffic on a bicycle and yelling. The area was checked with no results.

Theft, burglary, attempted theft or burglary, identity theft, fraud, forgery, deceptive practice, obstruction, robbery

July 24

Robbery was reported at Lilacia Park at 12:47 p.m. Two juveniles advised that three male subjects approached them and took cash and the backpack of one of the juveniles. The subjects left the area.

Theft was reported in the 600 block of W. Pleasant at 1:24 p.m. A complainant advised that a subject took his iPhone.

Theft was reported at AMC, 80 Yorktown, at 2:54 p.m. A complainant advised that he left his wallet and phone in a cup holder, and when he returned, both were gone.

Theft was reported at Helen Plum Library, 110 W. Maple, at 6:58 p.m. An employee advised that an iPhone was taken from someone.

July 23

Burglary to a vehicle was reported in the 1-100 block of E. Ash at 9:22 a.m. A complainant advised that her purse was taken from her unlocked vehicle.

Burglary to a vehicle was reported in the 1300 block of S. Finley at 1:30 p.m. A complainant advised that several items were taken from his unlocked vehicle.

July 22

Theft was reported at Restaurant Depot, 1000 N. Rohlwing, at 1:52 p.m. A complainant advised he left his wallet at the counter and when he returned, the wallet was gone.

Retail theft was reported at CVS, 1005 E. Roosevelt, at 6:27 p.m. An employee advised that a subject describe as a white female had placed a package of over the counter medication in a black bag and exited the store.

Retail theft was reported at JC Penney, 175 Yorktown, at 6:59 p.m. An employee advised that a subject described as a white male had taken merchandise and fled the store.

July 21

Antonio Alba, 20, of Northlake, was charged with retail theft at Von Maur, 145 Yorktown, at 5:36 p.m.

Terrance Barber, 31, of Chicago, was charged with retail theft and battery at Victoria’s Secret, 203 Yorktown, at 7:52 p.m.

A juvenile was charged with retail theft at Marshalls, 102 Yorktown, at 3:38 p.m., transported to the Lombard Police Department and released on I-bond to a relative.

Fraud was reported in Vision One Lasik Center, 320 W. Roosevelt, at 11:45 a.m. The owner advised that a credit card machine is being used to withdraw money from his corporate checking account and deposit the money into another account.

Breaking into a vehicle was reported in the 100 block of N. Charlotte at 7:47 a.m. A complainant advised that a subject went through his vehicle and left behind a baseball cap, but nothing was taken from the vehicle.

July 20

Burglary to a vehicle was reported in the 300 block of W. Potomac at 8:04 a.m. A complainant found her vehicle’s glovebox and center console open, with items missing from the vehicle including a backpack, a Dell laptop, high heels and paperwork.

Burglary was reported at Madison Meadow, Taylor and Fairfield, at 6:58 p.m. A complainant found the concession stand door open, and a witness advised that $120 in cash was missing.

July 19

Fraud was reported at Quick Test, 266 Yorktown, at 9:53 a.m. An employee advised that they received four fraudulent checks.

Fraud was reported in the 300 block of S. Main at 12:27 p.m. A complainant advised that an unauthorized withdrawal was made against her account.

A complainant in the 1-100 block of N. Park Ave. advised at 2:02 p.m. that a subject used his personal information to sell his vehicle without his permission.

A complainant in the 1-100 block of N. Park Ave. advised at 2:29 p.m. that his personal information was used to open up a credit account.

Identity theft was reported in the 700 block of E. North Broadway at 6:01 p.m. A complainant advised that his personal information was used to open several credit accounts.

Identity theft was reported in the 1900 block of S. Valley at 6:07 p.m. A complainant advised that his personal information was used to open several credit accounts.

July 18

Retail theft was reported at Lover’s Lane, 711 E. Roosevelt, at noon. A complainant advised that a subject had taken merchandise and left the store without paying. A witness advised he would return and pay for the items.

Fraud was reported in the 100 block of S. Craig Place at 12:02 p.m. A complainant advised that her bank account information was used for unauthorized withdrawals.

Two juveniles were charged with retail theft at JC Penney, 175 Yorktown, at 8:50 p.m., and released on I-bonds to a parent.

Warrant arrest

July 24

Police said the Cook County Sheriff’s Department advised of the arrest of Gerald Thomas, 42, of Chicago, on a Lombard Police Department original complaint for violation of bail bond.

July 23

Breanna M. Boykins, 25, of Chicago, was charged with obstructing identification and being a fugitive from justice near Butterfield and Fountain Square at 8:17 p.m. Police said Boykins also was arrested on a warrant.

Police said Matthew Dankert, 36, of Lombard, turned himself in on a Lombard Police Department warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

July 21

Police said Juan Carvajal, 32, of Melrose Park, turned himself in on a DuPage County Sheriff’s warrant at 11:36 a.m.

July 20

The Elgin Police Department advised at 8:27 p.m. of the arrest of Michael E. Vincent, 54, of Lombard, on a Lombard Police Department original complaint for obstructing identification.

Villa Park police reports

The Villa Park Police Department recently reported the following arrests and citations. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that suspects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.

July 20 Marquis E. Shelton, 33, of Country Club Hills, was charged with retail theft in the 200 block of E. Roosevelt on April 16. The original complaint and arrest warrant were issued on July 20.

July 19 A 36-year-old Villa Park man was charged with two counts of domestic battery on Dec. 5, 2017. The original complaint and arrest warrant were issued on July 19. Theft was reported in the 100 block of E. Maple. Police said that an unknown suspect stole four packages delivered to the above location and left on the front doorstep sometime between 10 and 11 a.m.

July 18 Narcisa Usurelu, 26, of Sacramento, Calif., was charged with retail theft at Walmart at 3:45 p.m.

July 17-July 18 Criminal damage was reported in the 900 block of W. North. Police said that an unknown suspect flattened the rear passenger tire of a vehicle parked on the southwest side of a building sometime between 9 p.m. July 17 and 10:15 a.m. July 18.

July 17 A 23-year-old Chicago man was charged with two counts of domestic battery and criminal trespass to real property in the 200 block of N. Ardmore on June 9. The original complaint and arrest warrant were issued on July 17.

July 16 Sean P. O’Leary, 20, of Elmhurst, was issued a local adjunction for possession of drug paraphernalia at Rotary Park at 11:36 p.m. Vanessa R. Romero, 29, of Lockport, was charged with retail theft at Walmart at 12:50 p.m.

July 15 A 54-year-old Villa Park woman was charged with domestic battery in the 100 block of W. Monroe at 8:11 p.m.

July 12 Lazaro Fernandez Inglesias, 29, of Miami, Florida, was charged with financial identity theft on May 25. The original complaint and arrest warrant were issued on July 12.

July 11-July 12 Theft was reported at the Lighthouse BP gas station. Police said that an unknown suspect stole an iPhone X, a debit card and an Illinois driver’s license which had been inadvertently left unattended sometime between the above dates.
