The Timothy Christian boys basketball team picked up two more wins in recent contests against Peoria Christian and Elmwood Park.

In a 68-32 non-conference win against Peoria Christian, The Trojans led only 17-14 after the first quarter, but used a 38-12 run over the next two quarters to pull away.

Sophomore Matt Owens led Timothy with 27 points on 10 of 15 shooting. He made 6 of 9 three-point attempts. Brandon Orange added 12 points, while Michael Thomas had seven points. The Trojans shot 59 percent from the field and hit nine 3-pointers.

Chris Brooks pulled in a team-high nine rebounds, while Orange had eight rebounds. Ty Merrick finished with six assists, while Orange had two steals.

Timothy also scored a 68-46 Metro Suburban Conference Red Division win against Elmwood Park. The Trojans led 18-7 after the first quarter and 36-13 at halftime.

Orange led the Trojans with 23 points on 11 of 13 shooting. Owens had nine points, while Danardo Jones had eight points and Merrick finished with seven points. The Trojans shot a blistering 62 percent from the field. Orange added seven rebounds, while Thomas had six rebounds. Owens pulled in five rebounds. Owens also had eight assists, while Merrick had two steals. Timothy remained unbeaten in MSC Red play after the Elmwood Park game.
