ECAF names Joe Schamberger ‘Friend of the Children’

Golf outing returns to White Pines Golf Course on Aug. 18

The Elmhurst Children’s Assistance Foundation (ECAF) will hold its annual golf outing on Friday, Aug. 18 at White Pines Golf Course in Bensenville. ECAF announced it would be honoring Joe Schamberger as this year’s “Friend of the Children.”

An Elmhurst resident for 25 years, Joe and his wife Amy Schiller have a daughter who is a 7th grader at IC Grade School. Amy is a managing partner with the Schiller Team of Realtors.

A graduate of the University of Missouri with a degree in economics, Joe is a principal at schamberger Bros., Inc., a beer distributing company founded by his grandfather in 1933. The business serves five counties in the Chicagoland area.

Joe and his company have been long-time sponsors of several Elmhurst organizations. He served as the Chairman of the Ray Graham Golf Classic, a fundraiser which benefits children with disabilities. Other endeavors he has supported include the Elmhurst Walk-In Assistance Network, including their ‘Cue for a Cause event over Labor Day weekend; Kick Off for Kids; Immaculate Conception grade and high schools; Dan Gibbons Turkey Trot; Elmhurst Heritage Foundation; the Elmhurst St. Patrick’s Parade; and the Elmhurst Cycling Classic.

Joe said he and his family are proud to call Elmhurst home and enjoy helping out in the community.
