Cullerton connects  businesses with local job candidates at 5th annual job fair

More than 100 local and regional employers are looking to hire DuPage County residents at Villa Park Democrat Tom Cullerton’s Fifth Annual Job Fair.

Cullerton is working with a number of area chambers of commerce and the Illinois Department of Employment Security to make this year’s job fair his largest event yet. The event is free for local businesses and for job seekers.

On August 23, doors will open at the Odeum Expo Center at 10 a.m. for area veterans and then for the general public from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cullerton is excited to announce Greco and Sons, SWD Inc., Illinois State Police, DuPage County along with many others will be looking for qualified candidates, accepting resumes and giving on-the-spot interviews.

“There are about 100 local and regional businesses with more than 2,000 jobs to fill,” Cullerton said. “This is an incredible free opportunity for local job seekers to connect with area employers who are looking to hire right now. If you or a friend, family member or neighbor are looking for work or simply looking for a new opportunity, I urge you to spread the word and take advantage of this free resource.”

To view a complete list of registered employers and a preview of jobs available, job-seekers are encouraged to pre-register on Cullerton’s website: www.SenatorTomCullerton.com.

“The best way to grow our economy is to put people to work,” Cullerton said. “There are area businesses ready to hire and I cannot think of a better place they can hire from than the 23rd Senate District.”

The Job Fair is co-hosted by the Addison Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bartlett Area Chamber of Commerce, Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce, Choose DuPage, Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Glendale Heights Chamber of Commerce, Greater Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce, Lombard Area Chamber of Commerce, People’s Resource Center, Roselle Chamber of Commerce and the Villa Park Chamber of Commerce.

“I value the partnerships we have with our area chambers,” Cullerton said. “Without their assistance this event would not be as successful as it is.”
