Paul Elledge is a Chicago based photographer with solo exhibitions at a variety of galleries across Chicago, including the Museum of Contemporary Photography. In addition, a video of Elledge in an interview format Artist Talk is now available on the PAC YouTube Channel.

The extension of Paul Elledge’s exhibit is a great opportunity for those who live in the western suburbs to enjoy an exhibit of this caliber close to home. The PAC exhibit, iPhone Once a Day, Everyday, is a small representation hand selected from a photographic documentation of over 3,000 photos. The black and white photographs encompass a variety of arenas including industrial, architectural, urban, rural, as well as the occasional vintage car or truck.

The photographs are shot only in black and white, in a vertical orientation, and edited using only his iPhone’s app. Every day since January 1, 2009 Elledge has posted an image from his iPhone to his iphoneonceaday.com website, Facebook and Instagram. The result is a visual diary of his life, and the exhibit and his Artist Talk allow us to understand the thinking behind this unique project.

Those who were unable to see Elledge’s Artist Talk at PAC on June 13th, can now access it on YouTube. With a casual and inspiring manner, Elledge shares his professional advice for amateur and professional photographers alike. His candid and instructional approach creates a pleasantly informative and insightful viewing experience for the seasoned or novice art consumer.

“I am not a writer, thus I have chosen the camera as a tool to create a pictorial diary,” Elledge said. “ I photograph every day to capture an image that mirrors an emotion, an experience, or a feeling that illustrates my state of mind for that day.”
