Block to Block Party – last call

Summer is coming to an end, and so is the Block to Block Party weekly summer concert series presented by the Elmhurst City Centre. Bring family and friends on July 26th from 5:30-8:30 p.m. to rock out and enjoy free live music one last time at the City Centre Plaza and the Elmhurst 255 Plaza at 255 N. York Road. Bringing a blanket or a chair is encouraged for the Elmhurst 255 Plaza location, as there is a spacious green lawn to watch and enjoy the music.

Performing at the Elmhurst 255 Plaza is Rhyan Komsthoeft, LaGrange local and incoming senior at Lyons Township High School. Komsthoeft has always had a passion for music, and has been performing live shows since she was just 13 years old. She plays the guitar and ukulele, while playing covers of artists like Adele, Billy Joel, Maroon 5 and many other popular artists across genres.

“I like to put new acoustic spins on songs that you hear on the radio,” said Komsthoeft.

Along with singing covers to influential musicians, she also writes her own songs.

“Most of my songs are inspirted by stores and events that are both personal and from other people,” she said.  “I try to wrong songs that many people can relate to.”

Closing out the Block to Block Party are the ones who helped kick it off back in June, fan favorite Milwaukee-based band, Wait for Morning. This acoustic band composed of Caleb Widmer, Dan Williams, and Brian Canright, plays a unique blend of upbeat pop/rock and singer/songwriter vocals covering a variety of today’s radio hits and classics alike. Covering songs from Ed Sheeran to Tom Petty, to Justin Bieber and The Beatles, this band does it all.

Save the date for Rock the Block on Friday September 8th from 4-10:30 p.m. and Saturday 9th from 11-10:30 p.m. at the Elmhurst City Centre.
