Sensory friendly tour of the Library

From 9:15-10 a.m., the Addison Public Library, 4 Friendship Plaza, will be hosting a sensory-friendly tour of what the library has to offer you and your family (for children fifth grade and under; families are welcome). Taste of St. Joseph Church

St. Joseph Catholic Church at 330 E. Fullerton Ave. will host its fourth annual free festival known as Taste of St. Joseph. Hours are Saturday from 12 noon to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 2-9 p.m. Enjoy carnival rides, games, pony and camel rides, live musical and entertainment, cold beer, food and much more. Monday, Aug 7

Social media marketing at the Library

From 7-8:30 p.m. at the Addison Public Library, learn how to harness Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms to advertise your business, event, or blog. District 4 food distribution

From 10 a.m.-12 noon at Indian Trail Junior High School, 222 N. Kennedy Drive, there will be a Northern Illinois Food Bank Mobile Pantry food distribution. Food is free to low-income families; distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Visitors are asked to bring bags or boxes for packaging. Sponsored by Money Managers Financial Group in partnership with the Addison Early Childhood Collaborative.

Concert in the Park featuring The Limited Edition Big Band

Kids Kollect at the Library

From 2-4 p.m. at the Addison Public Library, bring your personal collection of cool stuff to the Library and put it on display. Please register if you plan on bringing in a collection and arrive at 1:30 p.m. to set up in the Library’s Large Meeting Room. This is a collaboration with the Addison Historical Society. Get your high school diploma

The Addison Public Library is now offering adults the opportunity to earn an accredited high school diploma and career certificate online through a new program, Career Online High School (COHS). The library is providing a limited number of free scholarships to qualified adult learners who are looking to advance their careers, prepare for workforce entry, or continue their education. You must live in Addison and be 21 or older. Widows or Widowers (W.O.W.) meet each month

Active Adults Senior Club

• TOPS meetings held on Friday mornings

Remember TOPS? Take Off Pounds Sensibly is still here helping and supporting people to lose weight.  Meetings are held on Thursday evenings at the Addison Park District building at 120 E. Summer worship hours at Prince of Peace

Worship hours have changed for the summer at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1213 W. Army Trail Blvd. Through Labor Day, Sunday worship will be at 8:15 a.m. for the S E.E.D. discipleship services, and 9:15 for traditional service. Wednesday evening services continue at 7 p.m. all year. Call 630-543-3458 for more information.
