Top Pizza Taste Of Elmhurst declared yummy success Malnati’s wins best overall; Mamma Maria’s, Roberto’s tie for second place

Approximately 500 guests attended this year’s Top Pizza Taste of Elmhurst 2017, sponsored by the District 205 Foundation, and enjoyed selections from nine very generous local pizzerias. All of the pizzerias were standouts, getting recognition in at least one category.

Fratellos received top honors for their specialty pizza, and Gulliver’s for their crust and sauce. Armand’s cheese and DiLeo’s sausage earned top honors; Pazzi di Pizza and newcomer Baci were award winners for favorite sauce. This year’s crowd gave overall Top Pizza Honors to Lou Malnati’s, with Mamma Maria’s and Roberto’s in a tie for second place.

“Thank you to all of our spectacular pizzerias for participating in this light-hearted competition and donating your time, energy and pies to this event,” said Angie Kapotas, Foundation Director and Event Chair. “You are all winners for helping us raise $6,000 in funds that will benefit Elmhurst Public School students.” For result details, visit www.elmhurst205.org/foundation_pizza.
