Suspects charged after Clark station robbed at gunpoint

A person admitting involvement and another person of interest relating to the Clark Gas Station robbery in Elmhurst that occurred on April 25, 2017 have been charged by the FBI with a series of armed robberies and attempted armed robberies.

The defendants, Emanuel Gavin and Henry Fabela of Chicago, have been charged for a sequence of crimes occurring between January 24, 2017 and April 28, 2017 of cellular phone stores, gas stations, convenience stores, and other businesses in Chicago and the suburbs of Chicago.

All of the robberies exhibited a similar pattern of robbery with a handgun while wearing a surgical mask.  Elmhurst Police Detectives along with the FBI and Police Agencies from Chicago, Homewood, Berwyn, and Skokie assisted with the investigation.

The suspects were arrested by the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force on Friday, April 28, following the robbery of a Metro/PCS Store in Chicago.

The defendants had their initial appearance in federal court on Monday, May 1, 2017 and were ordered detained.
