Caryl Adair Hineline

Caryl Adair Hineline, nee Caryl Mae Adair, was born in Homewood on March 8, 1923, to S. Eugene Adair and Anna B. (nee Silberman) Adair. Most of her childhood was spent in Homewood. She attended Bloom Township High School and graduated from Illinois State Normal University, June 5, 1944. She then began her teaching career in Lovington, Ill., and in Crete. In the 1950’s, Caryl was employed by the Chicago Tribune in the advertising department, proofreading ad copy. In 1960, Caryl returned to teaching in Flossmoor. It was through a fellow Flossmoor teacher (who would become Caryl’s sister-in-law) that she met her future husband, Warren M. Hineline in 1963. They were married on December 19, 1964, and have one son, Kevin Adair Hineline. The family lived in Elmhurst for 35 years. Caryl served as a substitute teacher and a kindergarten teacher in several suburban districts until 1988. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Doris Ann and Robert. Caryl is survived by sisters-in-law: Jane Perry Adair and Ruby Hineline; nieces: Annie Adair Lundin, Patricia Adair, and Dr. Robin Shannon; Robin’s husband, Dr. John Jay Shannon; grandsons Lucas and Logan and her grandson’s mom, Sarah Sosa; her cousin and wife, Richard and Ethel Bloesch, cousins Barbara Olson, Marjorie Wright and Elaine Woodard; and a warm loving family of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and their kids, including: Ryan, Dylan, Caley, Robbie, Gayle, Philip, Ginny & George, Kris & Lonni, Julie, Theresa, Lincoln, Brock, Peter, David, Crystal, Larry, Rhonda, and Zane. Caryl was a life-long Christian and member of Bethel UCC in Elmhurst for 48 years. She served in many offices and roles in the church including Director of Christian Ed and many activities with the Women of Bethel. She was active in the League of Women Voters and PEO. For the past 12 years Caryl and Warren have lived and shared many close friendships at the Bridgeway independent living facility in Bensenville. Caryl’s smile and her kindness will be long remembered, and she will be greatly missed. Memorial services have already taken place. Noreen Sobaski, 89

Noreen Sobaski nee Sample, of Villa Park, passed away recently at the age of 89. Beloved wife of Thomas Sobaski. Loving mother of Stephen (Sheila), Catherine (Thomas) Harle, Linda (William) Cherney and Nancy (Steven) Koester. Dearest grandmother of Grace, Stephanie, Jason (Robin), Nicole (Luke), Ryan, Megan, Michael, Matthew, Jennifer and James. Great grandmother of Korben. Fond sister of Paul (Jacqueline) Sample and the late twin Josephine Sample. Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, Ma6 16, 2017, at St. Alexander Church, 300 S. Cornell, Villa Park.
