Garden Club of Villa Park 23rd Annual Plant Sale

Villa Park, IL, May 12 & 13, 2017 – The 23rd Annual Plant Sale of the Garden Club of Villa Park will be held Friday and Saturday, May 12 and 13, 2017 from 8 am to 3 pm at the Villa Park Community Recreation Center at 320 E Wildwood Ave. in Villa Park.

The Plant Sale theme is Heirlooms, Herbs and Natives, featuring a variety of heirloom vegetables, herbs and, this year pollinator specialties in flowering perennial Native plants. We have over 300 native plants coming from Possibility Place Nursery along with 19 different varieties of herbs obtained through We Grow Dreams. So this could very well be the place where you find your perfect house plant, and more. We will have hanging baskets too and vegetables of all kinds!

New this year is a mini boutique featuring the Herb Mixes and Seasonings of Backyard Patch Herbs of Villa Park, Club 80th anniversary Cookbooks and local honey. SO even if you don’t garden you can stop by to learn about herb and pollinators.

Through 23 years of wonderful plant sales, the Garden Club of Villa Park has responded to the needs of local gardeners and this year is no different. For 2016 the Club is including a special selection plants which will make it a destination for all home gardeners especially those interested in growing their own foods.

We changed the offerings at the plant sale last year and continued customer demand has us adding hardier native plants to the new mix. We know that native plants can be hard to obtain and we are working with a local company to get quality plants that people can add to their landscape which will need less water, grow more easily and help curb flooding.

As always the garden club will have experts on hand to help gardeners, new and old decide on their vegetable, flower and herb purchases.

A nice variety of vegetables, like eggplant, tomatoes, cucumbers and squash as well as herbs from Basil to Oregano to Rosemary will be part of the sale offerings.

Recipes and growing information will be provided at the sale for both your garden plot or your patio containers. Come browse, ask questions, and find out if we have the plants for you!
