Thursday, May 18

• From 6-10 p.m., United Community Concerns Assn. (UCCA) will hold Taste of the Town: Food for Life at Wilder Mansion. Tickets include samples from 15 area restaurants, cooking demos, live music by the Clay Corso Trio. Tickets are $50 each in advance, $60 at the door, and can be purchased at ucca-elmhurst.org or send payment to UCCA, 125 W. Church St., Elmhurst.

• At 7:30 p.m., in Baker Auditorium at York High School, the Music Department will present a special performance by the York Symphony Orchestra to honor the graduating class of 2017, and to feature junior Concerto Competition Winner Tessa Vermeulen. Admission is free, but all are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to a local food pantry. A reception will follow in the cafeteria.

Saturday, May 20

The Crestview Garden Club of Elmhurst will hold its annual plant sale from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at The Abbey, 407 W. St. Charles Road. Experienced members will be onsite to answer questions and assist with plant selection. This year’s sale will also include artisan-crafted birdhouses and feeders by Bud Prim of Elmhurst. From 1-5 p.m., Elmhurst Museum Day will take place at the various local museums including Elmhurst Art Museum, Elmhurst History Museum, Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art, and Wilder Park Conservatory. The Explore Elmhurst trolley will be operating that day. Free admission to all museums plus family friendly activities, exhibit tours and much more. Limited free parking at each museum. Monday, May 29

At 9:30 a.m., the 99th annual Elmhurst Memorial Day Parade will step off from Third & York. The parade will culminate at the Veterans Memorial in Wilder Park, next to Wilder Mansion, for a Memorial Ceremony honoring the fallen. Retired Brigadier General and Chaplain in the United States Air Force John M. Wendel will serve as Grand Marshal.

Saturday, June 3

The top floor of the Addison parking deck in Elmhurst will be the scene of Dancing Under the Stars, featuring the Elmhurst College Jazz Band. It will begin at 7 p.m. on the roof level of the Addison parking garage, at 135 N. Addison Ave. downtown. Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic basket and a chair or blanket to enjoy the rooftop views and the music. Event is free and free parking is available on the lower levels. Sunday, June 4

Beginning at 8:30 a.m., the 5th Annual Strides Against MG benefit walk and kids’ dash will be held at Berens Park, 493 Oaklawn Avenue. Hosted by Conquer Myasthenia Gravis, the family-friendly walk will raise MG awareness and raise funds to serve MG patients and fund research. Friday, June 9

Beginning at 7:30 p.m., York High School alumni are returning to the stage for a one-night-only performance of the musical Godspell, in York’s Baker Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased starting May 15, at ticketpeak.com/yorkdrama.

Ongoing programs:

• A support group for family caregivers of older adults meets the second and fourth Thursdays of every month from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Elmhurst Public Library’s second floor study room. (Not an Elmhurst Library program.) Info: (630) 833-9665.
