Elmhurst police are investigating an armed bank robbery that occurred at the Community Bank of Elmhurst, 330 Butterfield Rd. On May 18, at 5:00 p.m. a male/white, 35 yrs, 6ft., 160 lbs, with a buzzcut, wearing sun glasses and a white/blue striped hoodie with blue jeans entered the bank and announced a robbery to the teller. A handgun was displayed in his waistband. The offender fled the scene eastbound in a white Toyota Tundra pick-up, with the lift gate down on Butterfield Rd. with an undetermined amount of cash. Elmhurst police evidence technicians processed the scene and are working with agents from the FBI.
