Bethel Church celebrates Music Sunday

On Sunday, May 14, Bethel United Church of Christ will celebrate its annual spring Music Sunday, featuring the church’s adult voice choir under the direction of Minister of Music Jeffrey Panko, the adult bell choir under the direction of Linda Lunt, and soloists Andrew Volk, clarinet, and Jenny Riddle, soprano. The theme for Music Sunday is “I thank you God,” from a Gwyneth Walker composition based on a poem by E. E. Cummings, which will be sung by the voice choir. Musicians will offer classical as well as traditional and contemporary sacred works by Brahms, Ralph Vaughan Williams and Mark Hayes, among others, as the “sermon” for the morning worship service.

Everyone is invited to attend the Music Sunday service, which begins at 10:00 a.m., and to join us for coffee hour following worship. Bethel is located at 315 E. St. Charles Rd. in Elmhurst. Please enter from St. Charles Rd. or Huntington Lane off Poplar. Parking is available and the church is fully accessible. For more information call 630-279-4040.
