Saturday, March 18, IC Catholic Prep hosted its 47th annual Knight of Jewels Gala  with the theme of “Celebrate the Knight,” paying homage to the Knights of past, present, and future. The Hyatt Lodge in Oak Brook provided the perfect backdrop to showcase this year’s walk down memory lane.

The evening began with a red carpet style photo opportunity for arriving guests while ICCP alumnus Ben Johnson, from the Class of 2016, performed on the piano. dancing to live entertainment by SPG Trio, and fond memories of the traditions of ICCP.

This year’s keynote speaker was Bill Krefft (’03), ICCP Head Football Coach of the 2016 IHSA Class 3A State Championship Team. Coach Krefft delivered a moving message about ICCP’s overall commitment to excellence for its students, athletes, and alumni, which has created a deep and strong foundation for the many generations of students yet to come. Guests also had the opportunity to hear from freshman Louis Narcisi and senior Autumn Gage as they reflected on what it means to them to be a Knight.

The Knight of Jewels is the high school’s largest fundraiser of the year, providing alumni, benefactors, families, friends and the community an opportunity to enjoy a fabulous evening while raising funds for the school. Proceeds from this event will help to transform the lives of ICCP students through enhanced academic and extra curricular programs, updated technology throughout the campus, and professional development of the faculty and staff.

This year’s event, chaired by Jim and Maureen Kenneally and Steve and Terry Remy, included a new format for fundraising. Instead of bidding on trips, sports tickets, or spa baskets, guests were asked to open their hearts through Fund a Knight and ICCP is proud to announce that more than $225,000 was raised! Donations to Fund A Knight are still welcome and openings are still available for the Buy-In Parties. Information can be found on the website ICCatholicPrep.org or by contacting ICCP President, Amy Fahey, at (630) 530-3485 or [email protected].

ICCP extends its sincere gratitude to the event chairs, volunteers, and attendees who made this hugely successful evening possible, and a special thank you to the many Sponsors, Underwriters and Advertisers.
