Addison Trail girls soccer goalie Priscilla Vega has been a key cog for the team thus far.

In a recent five-game stretch, Blazers coach Sergio Nunez noted Vega stopped nearly 40 shots.

“Priscilla has been consistent in our goal,” he said.

In recent action, the Blazers dropped a West Suburban Conference Gold Division game to Hinsdale South.

“We’ve been working nonstop on improving our control and first touch,” said Nunez. “I’ve noticed progress in that sense but we still have a ways to go.”

Nunez said the team is working hard to advance its offensive game and also is turning in strong performances on the defensive end.

“Offensively, we need to find the back of the net, something we struggle with,” he said. “Defensively, we execute the offsides trap better than any team thus far, but that only can help so much.”

Nunez likes the way his team has competed throughout the season. “I’ve been impressed with our commitment to finish games with passion and we never give up,” he said.

In addition to Vega, Nunez also cited recent strong play from defender Aryana Carrera. “Priscilla and Aryana have stepped up for us,” he said.
