A semi-trailer hit bottom at the Haven/Arlington railroad crossing on the morning of Friday, March 31.  The trailer, loaded with 17,000 pounds of household goods, completely blocked all three tracks of the Union Pacific Railroad’s “Chicago West Line.”  Metra service was disrupted and an inbound train was held at the Elmhurst station.  Elmhurst Police & Fire responded to the incident and Union Pacific Maintainer’s also assisted in the attempt to move the trailer.  The crossing was finally cleared by mid-morning after the trailer was pulled off the crossing.
