Police Reports

Area Police Departments recently reported the following arrests and citations. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.

Addison

March 23

• Police said Content E. Craft, 37, of Addison, had an original warrant out of the Addison Police Department for battery.

• D Wayne O. Ratcliff, 26, of Glen Ellyn, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis, driving while license suspended and registration suspension for no insurance subsequent to a traffic stop in the 1000 block of N. Rohlwing Road at around 12:19 p.m.

March 22

Sean E. Depotter, 25, of Addison, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis in the 800 block of School Street at around 7:51 a.m.

March 20

Police said Sergio Hernandez-Aguilar, 35, of Addison, was stopped for an expired registration in the 700 block of E. Lake St. at around 2:43 p.m. and had a failure to appear warrant out of the DuPage County Sheriff’s Department for a traffic violation. Hernandez-Aguilar also was charged with no valid driver’s license and an expired registration.

March 18

Angelo Vaccarello, 24, of Addison, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis and no seat belt during a seat belt checkpoint near Lake and Addison at around 12:30 a.m.

Villa Park

March 18

• Jean S. Ritchey, 60, of Addison, was charged with retail theft at a store at around 3:22 p.m.

• Theft was reported at a food store at around 2 p.m. Police said that an unknown suspect(s) stole approximately 30 shelves that were left outside of the business while the store was being reorganized.

March 17-March 18

Criminal damage was reported in the 200 block of S. Villa. Police said that between 5 p.m. March 17 and 8:43 a.m. March 18, an unknown suspect damaged a windshield wiper of a vehicle parked in the lot.

March 17

• Anthony J. Metcalf, 31, of Lombard, was charged with two counts of DUI, disobeying a police officer, improper passing/approach of an emergency vehicle and improper lane usage in the 100 block of W. Roosevelt at around 7:56 p.m.

• Norbert A. Karpinskai, 38, of Addison, was charged with parental responsibility for vandalism by minors at Twin Lakes Park at around 6:32 p.m.

• Retail theft was reported at a gas station at around 7:49 p.m. Police said an unknown suspect attempted to buy cigarettes. When their credit card was declined several times, the suspect took two bags of chips and an energy drink from the shelves and left without paying for them.

• Attempted robbery was reported in the 600 block of N. Addison at around 1:27 a.m. Police said two unknown suspects attempted to rob a store by demanding the clerk open the register. The suspects fled on foot without cash when a customer approached the door.

March 16

• Nicole M. Bartlett, 32, of Villa Park, was charged with DUI, improper lane usage and no insurance near St. Charles and Charles at around 1:52 a.m.

• Kathy J. Moore, 36, of Lombard, was charged with retail theft at a store at around 7:41 p.m.

March 15

Mariah A. Atkins, 19; Zakiya M. Smalley, 19—both of Chicago—and a female juvenile, also from Chicago, were charged with retail theft in the 100 block of W. Roosevelt at around 4:57 p.m.

March 14

A female juvenile from Villa Park was charged with disorderly conduct at a high school at around 3:10 p.m.

March 12

• Alfonso M. Murillo, 27, of Schiller Park, was charged with aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated fleeing and eluding, aggravated assault, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license revoked near Ardmore and North at around 7:34 p.m.

• Vandalism was reported in the 100 block of W. Plymouth at around 6:28 p.m. Police said an unknown suspect vandalized the fire station sign using a black marker.

• Theft was reported at a restaurant at around 8:40 a.m. Police said an unknown female suspect stole an iPhone that was inadvertently left in the women’s restroom.

• A male juvenile from Villa Park was charged with theft in the 900-1000 block of North Avenue at around 1:23 a.m.
