Police Reports

Area Police Departments recently reported the following arrests and citations. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.

Addison

March 2

• Jackie M. Brown, 40, of Addison, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting a police officer at a restaurant in the 500 block of W. Lake St. at around 9:35 p.m. Police said Brown shouted and waved his hands aggressively at the restaurant. Brown moved his shoulders and pulled his arms away from officers in attempt to resist arrest, according to police.

• Karina Cardenas, 20, of Addison, was charged with battery at around 9 a.m. Police said Cardenas struck a victim in the eye with a key/lanyard at a restaurant.

March 1

• Maria Orlando, 31, of Addison, was charged with DUI-drugs and failure to signal when required near Holtz and Mulloy at around 1:26 p.m.

• Peter R. Tukiendorf, 33, of Lombard, was charged with battery in the 400 block of S. Addison Road at around 7:35 p.m. Police said Tukiendorf put a victim in a headlock and punched the victim several times in the face at a restaurant.

Feb. 28

Santiago Mendoza, 32, of Addison, was charged with DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, driving too fast for conditions and driving on the sidewalk in the 100 block of School Street at around 10:05 p.m. Police said Mendoza was stopped for speeding and nearly striking several squad cars.

Feb. 27

Maria Sotelo, 39, of Addison, was charged with DUI, no valid driver’s license and no insurance in the 100 block of Elizabeth Drive at around 12:16 a.m.

Feb. 26

A 26-year-old man from Freeport, Ill., had a failure to appear warrant out of the DuPage County Sheriff’s Department for domestic battery that allegedly took place in the 500 block of N. Swift Road at around 10:14 p.m.

Feb. 25

Mariano A. Reyes-Ovalle, 31, of Addison, was charged with illegal transportation of open alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, no valid driver’s license and no insurance near Lake and Kennedy at around 9:43 p.m.

Feb. 24

• Alma A. Jimenez, 37, of Lakemoor, was charged with DUI in the 2100 block of W. Army Trail Road at around 10:26 p.m.

• A 35-year-old Addison man was charged with domestic battery and resisting arrest in the 400 block of Cherry Hill Lane at around 10 p.m. Police said the suspect struck a victim on the arm with a belt and struck the victim with a closed fist on the jaw.

Villa Park

Feb. 25

• Nickolas Colon, 28, of Chicago, was charged with retail theft at a store at around 3:19 p.m.

• A stolen vehicle was reported in the 1-100 block of S. Villa. Police said that between 12:30 and 7 a.m., an unknown suspect stole a vehicle that was parked in a lot.

Feb. 20-Feb.25

Theft was reported at a hotel. Police said that between the above dates, an unknown suspect apparently stole a gold necklace that was left unsecured in a bathroom inside the hotel.

Feb. 24

• Joseph J. Cozzi, 20, of Burbank, was charged with theft at around 11 a.m. Feb. 3 in the 1100 block of N. Villa. The original complaint and arrest warrant was issued on Feb. 24.

• Sheila A. Wannos, 58, of Villa Park, was charged with two counts of DUI in the 600 block of W. Vermont at around 6:35 p.m.

• A male juvenile from Zion was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, no valid driver’s license, excessive noise created by a muffler or lack thereof and no window treatment on windows adjacent to the driver near North and Ellsworth at around 8:52 p.m.

Feb. 10-Feb. 24

A stolen vehicle was reported in the 400 block of W. St. Charles. Police said that between 12 noon Feb. 10 and 12:50 p.m. Feb. 24, an unknown suspect stole a trailer that was parked in the parking lot while it was having work done on it at the business.

Feb. 23

• A 25-year-old man from Johnsburg, Ill., was charged with two counts of domestic battery in the 300 block of S. Summit at around 12:05 a.m.

• Retail theft was reported at a pharmacy in the 1-100 block of E. St. Charles at around 2:02 p.m. Police said unknown suspects removed items for sale from the shelves and left the store without paying for the items.

• Police said an unknown suspect entered a vehicle parked unsecured in a driveway in the 200 block of E. Oak at around 6:30 a.m. The owner of the vehicle pulled in the driveway after seeing the suspect walk up the driveway. The suspect left the area on foot.

Feb. 22

• Theft was reported in the 100 block of W. Roosevelt at around 12:24 p.m. Police said an unknown suspect stole a cell phone that was inadvertently left unattended on a table in a waiting room.

• A male juvenile from Villa Park was charged with assault in the 900 block of W. North Ave. at around 10:52 a.m.

Feb. 21

Cindy Soria, 21, of Villa Park, was charged with DUI and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident in the 1-100 block of E. Division at around 8:56 p.m.

Feb. 20

• Brian Jimenez, 20, of Forest Park, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor and operating a vehicle with a suspended registration for no insurance.

• Robert W. Messina, 34, of Lisle, was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, aggravated driving while license revoked, spilling a load onto a roadway, and no insurance near Highland and Route 83 at around 8:07 a.m.

• Jaymeson Moten, 23, of Villa Park, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia near St. Charles and Monterey at around 7:41 p.m.

• Andre D. Wilson, 23, of Addison, was charged with DUI and improper lane usage near North and Ardmore at around 1:28 a.m.

• Four male juveniles—two from Lombard and two from Glen Ellyn—were charged with disorderly conduct in the 600 block of W. Terrace at around 8:06 p.m.

Feb. 14

Shawn D. Casey, 31, of Naperville, was charged with retail theft at Target at 1:55 p.m.

Feb. 10

Two female juveniles from Villa Park were charged with disorderly conduct-fighting at a high school at around 9:20 a.m.
