Willowbrook boys basketball team starts regional play
Knudtson advances to sectional round of state 3-point shooting contest.

The Willowbrook boys basketball team closed the season with a pair of games against Downers Grove South and Downers Grove North.
Willowbrook lost 58-48 to Downers Grove South in a West Suburban Conference Gold Division game. The loss forced a three-way tie for the WSC Gold title between Willowbrook, Downers Grove South and Hinsdale South.
The Warriors then dropped a 60-57 contest to Downers Grove North in the WSC crossover placement game.
Willowbrook finished the regular season with a 24-4 record.
The Warriors opened Class 4A Batavia regional play Wednesday against either No. 12 seed Addison Trail or No. 21 seed Waubonsie Valley.
Willowbrook is the No. 5 overall seed in the Hinsdale South sectional.
If Willowbrook won its game Wednesday it will play for the regional title Friday at 7 p.m. against either Batavia, Metea Valley or No. 4 sectional seed Naperville North.
Knudtson advances to sectional round
Willowbrook girls basketball player Shannon Knudtson advanced to the sectional round of the Class 4A state 3-point shooting contest recently. Knudtson competed in the recent Class 4A Argo sectional in Summit. Knudtson advanced to the sectional by being one of the top four shooters at the Oak Lawn regional.
