George A. Calhoun, of Elmhurst, died peacefully surrounded by his family on May 2, 2016, at the age of 84.  He was born in Chicago on April 11, 1932. Devoted husband of Sandra, nee Johnson, for 59 years; loving father of Lynn (Bill) Nichols, Patricia (Bob) Natale, Julie (Joe) Palermo and Carrie (Andrew) Read; grandfather of Brittany, Billy and Bethany Nichols, Christopher (Caitlin) and Katharyn Marzec, Robin, Paige and Carly Palermo and Isobel, Hollis and Iris Read; dear son of the late Catherine Calhoun. A talented baseball player, he had to turn down his invitation to try out for the Chicago White Sox, when he was drafted into the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.  George was stationed in Oahu and served at sea on the U.S.S. Princeton.  Later in life, he was an avid “Price is Right” fan, was on the show twice, and got to “Come On Down!”   Funeral Mass was held on Friday, May 6, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Church. Entombment at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorials will be appreciated for Cat Guardians, Salvation Army or Neighborhood Boys and Girls Club of Chicago. Jane M. Vestuto Sdesar, of Elmhurst, passed away recently at the age of 91. Wife of the late Orlando Vestuto; mother of Michael Vestuto, Marvin Vestuto, Sharon Teffeteller, Melody Vestuto and the late Errol Vestuto; grandmother of 15; great grandmother of 15; great great grandmother of 3; daughter of the late Ludwig and Theresa Sdesar; sister of the late Margaret L. Jagodzinski. Jane was an active member of St. Procopius Abbey, Elmhurst Park District Abbey Seniors, St. Domitilla Church and Visitation Church. Visitation at Ahlgrim Funeral Home, 567 S. Spring Rd., Elmhurst from 9:45 a.m. until time of Prayers at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016 going to Visitation Church. Mass at 10:45 a.m. Interment Oakridge Cemetery. Albert J. Apponi, of Villa Park, passed away recently at the age of 83. Beloved husband of the late Evonne, nee Ptacek; loving father of Doreen (Scott) Anderson and Michael (Kate) Apponi; dear grandfather of Larissa (Daniel) Mueller, Marina Anderson and Xander and Willow Apponi; fond brother of the late Carlo (Pearl) Apponi; dear uncle of Carl, Ron Apponi and Marisa Boffa; great uncle of Gina, Carla and Vince Boffa and George Apponi. Prudence S. Fogle, nee Stewart, of Wheaton, a former longtime resident of Elmhurst, passed to eternal life May 7, 2016, at the age of 89. Loving wife of 60 years of the late John A.; dear mother of Jane (Richard) Nunemaker, John (Dawn), Barbara (William) Werly, Elizabeth (James) Werly and David; devoted grandmother of 16; great-grandmother of 11; fond sister-in-law of the late Howard (Roberta) Fogle and Elaine (the late David) Davis; aunt to many nieces and nephews. Prudence was born June 17, 1926 in Sharon, Pa., to the late Samuel and Prudence (nee McCaughtry) Stewart. Funeral service was held Thursday, May 12 at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St, Lombard.
