IC Catholic Prep girls soccer team defeats Montini

Bleyer, Lundgren each score two goals in York soccer win.

The IC Catholic Prep girls soccer team moved to 3-2-2 overall after a recent 3-1 non-conference win against Montini.

Grace Fuller led the Knights with two goals. Olivia Hurt added the Knights’ other goals. Fuller, Hurt and Tessa Langan each had an assist.

York girls soccer

The York girls soccer team downed South Elgin 4-0 in non-conference play.

Maggie Bleyer and Jenna Lundgren each had two goals. Maggie Milkowski, Kristen Viola, Ffyon Hund and Mady Schiller each had an assist.

In a Pepsi Showdown game, the Dukes lost 2-1 to St. Charles North. Bleyer had the only goal for York off an assist from Gaby Uribe.

In a 6-1 loss to Lake Zurich in the Pepsi Showdwn, Cassidy Privett had York’s goal off a Bleyer assist.

“The team is looking to bounce back from our last two defeats and keep working together for success,” said York interim coach Stevan Dobric.

Through the team’s first seven games (3-4 overall, 0-1 West Suburban Conference Silver Division), Bleyer, Lundgren, Uribe, Privett, Jenna Dvorak and Viola had one or more goals, while Lundgren, Hund, Schiller, Bleyer, Uribe, Madison Casey, Rachel Teague, Maggie Milkowski and Viola had one or more assists on the season.

“it is really a team effort this year,” said Dobric.
